Since the evacuation in January of 1997, we have realized that if the power is shut off for any reason, we would not have enough water to last more than a couple of days, even with rationing.  Then with the power outages and the uncertainty of future power, we became even more concerned. In talking with customers in the district, we came to realize that 90% of you thought we already had alternative power.  We now have a generator that will be able to get us through emergency situations. Now if the power goes off, we can proceed with some confidence.
